Soups & Sweet Treat for 1.5.2012!!!

Happy almost New Year all!  I hope that everyone had a wonderful holiday week and has a healthy, happy New Year!  I am looking forward to taking the stockpots down and making some soup!!!  It sounds like an arctic blast is coming our way for the beginning of the new year…perfect for a quart or two of soup to warm the soul!

Sweet & Sour Cabbage Soup with Dill… This old-fashioned soup is Jewish soul food…yum!  Ingredients: canola oil, onions, carrots, celery, cabbage, golden raisins, veggie stock, stewed tomatoes, v-8 juice, brown sugar, maple syrup, lemon juice, caraway seeds.  Garnished w. fresh dill & served w. bread for dipping.  13. per quart  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Cheddar-Corn Chowder w. Bacon & Scallions…This chowder is also popular and is perfect for a cold winters night!  Something about the mix of crisp bacon bits, cheddar cheese and crunchy scallions hits the spot!  Ingredients: bacon, onion, carrots, celery, garlic, Yukon gold potatoes, chicken stock, pinch of cayenne, coriander, creamed corn, frozen corn, whole milk, dash of Worcestershire, cheddar cheese, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. scallions & bacon.  Served w. bread for dipping.  13. per quart

Sweet Treat…I figure that after the holidays most have had their fill of  super sweet confections.  This weeks sweet treat will satisfy the sweet tooth without going over the top!  Old Fashioned Chocolate Chip Oatmeal Cookies…1. per cookie

Orders due Tuesday @ midnight!  Please leave containers out w. payment on Thursday.  If you are ordering from a gift certificate please provide the number at the bottom.  Thank you & Happy New Year!
