The talk on the street is the weather. It has thrown me for a loop! Today we will be washing screens & taking off storms so that the house doesn’t implode from the freakish heat. Instead of making end of the season comfort soups I have been searching my repertoire for SUMMER soups. Strange. Thursday will be warm, but the sun will go down, temps will fall into the 40’s and a quart or two of soup & a sweet treat will still taste great!!!
Chilled Curried Carrot Soup…This soup tastes great chilled or heated…your choice. Ingredients: canola oil, carrots, onion, shallot, garlic, fresh ginger, jalapeno, coriander, curry powder, veggie stock, coconut milk, lime juice, kosher salt, pepper, & fresh cilantro. Garnished w. toasted Pepita. 13. per quart served w. bread. Vegan, vegetarian & gluten-free
Corn & Roasted Red Pepper Chowder…The roasted red peppers in this soup are pureed giving the soup a beautiful color and fresh taste. Ingredients: unsalted butter, olive oil, onions, celery, carrots, garlic, yukon gold potatoes, chicken stock, coriander, bay leaves, corn, whole milk, roasted red peppers, dash of Tabasco, kosher salt, pepper, & fresh cilantro. Garnished w. tortilla chips. 13. per quart served w. bread. Gluten-Free
Sweet Treat: Zucchini-Nut-Bread Sandwich Cookies (filled w. a sweet cream cheese filling) 1.50 per cookie
