Pasta Fagiloi…white beans, olive oil, carrots, garlic, stewed tomatoes, veggie stock, bay leaves, oregano, elbow noodles, fresh parsley, kosher salt & pepper. Garnished w. optional parm cheese. 13. per quart served w. bread. Vegetarian, Vegan (minus parm garnish)

Cheddar Corn Chowder w. Bacon & Scallions…the ultimate corn chowder!…Ingredients: bacon, onion, carrots, celery, potatoes, chicken stock, coriander, corn, cheddar cheese, whole milk, dash or Worcestershire, kosher salt, pepper, scallions. 13. per quart served w. bread. Gluten-Free

Sweet Treat: Brownies- w. or w.out nuts 2. per brownie

Soups & Sweet Treat 3.26.15

Soup will be delivered EARLY on Thursday! My goal is to have it delivered by 11:30 (kids again home at 11:30 on Thursday and all day Friday!). If you will not be home until late afternoon/early evening be sure to leave a cooler, bag, box etc. out! I will remind you when I send order confirmation.

Split Pea & Ham…by special request! Ingredients: canola oil, onions, celery, carrots, garlic, split peas, local ham, chicken stock, fresh thyme, bay leaves, kosher salt & pepper. 13. per quart served w. bread. Gluten-Free

Spinach & Zucchini Bisque…A wonderfully green soup- my kids call it alien soup! The soup has a wonderful flavor due to the addition of leeks & fennel. Ingredients: olive oil, garlic, onions, celery, fennel, leeks, zucchini, potatoes, veggie stock, spinach, nutmeg, kosher salt & pepper, OPTIONAL light cream. 13. per quart served w. bread. Vegetarian, Vegan (minus dairy) & Gluten Free

Almond Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies: Gluten Free & Vegan (trust me- they are GOOD!). 2. per cookie (a bit more expensive due to the ingredients!)

Soups & Sweet Treat 3.19.15

Last week, for a few days, the sap was running, the snow was melting…it felt like spring was winning the fight. This week it looks like winter is in the lead. During the cold, raw days of March our bodies still crave warm, nourishing foods; just not the thick hearty fare of deep winter. The soups this week will warm you up but contain the lighter, more complex flavors of a different season.

Malaysian Cabbage & Peanut…looking through my old blog posts I realized that I haven’t made this soup in almost 2 years! How dare I! Ingredients: cabbage, low sodium soy sauce, dry roasted peanuts, garlic, ginger, onions, curry powder, coriander, turmeric, tomatoes, yukon gold potatoes, sweet potatoes, Thai fish sauce, black pepper. Garnished w. chopped peanuts. 13. per quart served w. bread. Gluten-Free, VEGETARIAN & VEGAN: Please specify- the fish sauce is added off the heat. If you are vegetarian I will quart your soup prior to adding the fish sauce!

Chicken Barley Soup…I have a wonderful memory of eating this soup at a friends house on a sunny but cold March day. Her and her husband, being farmers, added local frozen to corn it. It remains one of my fondest memories of eating soup! canola oil, chicken thighs & breasts, onions, celery, carrots, corn, thyme, bay leaves, chicken stock, barley, kosher salt, pepper, fresh parsley. 13. per quart served w. bread.

Soups & Sweet Treat 3.12.15

It is March & I am back…a week late…after a wonderful vacation, a cruddy head cold, and days upon days staring at the computer and entering tax data, I can’t wait to take my soup pots down & start cooking!!!

Black Bean & Sweet Potato Soup…this is one of those soups where a bunch of simple ingredients turns into something much greater then its parts. Ingredients: canola oil, garlic, onions, celery, carrots, black beans, veggie stock, sweet potatoes, kosher salt, pepper, lime juice, tomato paste & fresh cilantro. 13. per quart served w. bread Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Chili Con Carne…ground beef, colorful pepper, a mix of beans- YUM!Ingredients: canola oil, garlic, onions, rainbow mix of peppers, jalapeno, ground beef, kidney beans, pinto beans, black beans, tomatoes, tomato juice, chili powder, cumin, oregano, kosher salt & pepper. Garnished w. cilantro, sour cream & jack cheese. 13. per quart served w. bread. Gluten-Free

Sweet Treat: Banana Cupcakes w. Chocolate Cream Cheese Frosting 2. per cupcake
