The warmest September on record- I have been calling it Summertember- is coming to end!  Thursday, the first of October, and soup day is going to chilly- finally, perfect soup weather!

Chickpea & Butternut Squash Soup…this is an amazing vegetarian soup!  Full of flavor thanks to the coconut milk, lime juice and ginger- a zingy bowl of goodness.  Ingredients:  canola oil, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, butternut squash, diced tomatoes, chickpeas, tomato juice, soy sauce, lime juice, ground ginger, coriander, brown sugar, coconut milk, jalapeno, fresh cilantro, kosher salt & pepper.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Italian Wedding Ball Soup…baby meatballs floating in a rich chicken broth enriched with egg, spinach and baby pasta- Yum!  Ingredients: Meatballs: grated onion, garlic, parsley, egg, salt, pepper, Parmesan, bread crumbs, ground beef and ground pork.  Soup: chicken broth, spinach, eggs, baby pasta, parsley.  Garnished w. Parmesan  13. per quart served w. bread.

Sweet Treat: Apple Spice Cupcakes w. Salted Carmel Frosting 2. each

Soups & Sweet Treat 9.24.15

How refreshing to wake up this morning and feel the crisp air!  Enjoy the beautiful day ahead.

This weeks soup feature the abundance of local produce that September produces…eggplants, zucchini, peppers and more!

Eggplant Parm Soup…this is one of my favorite soups!  Ingredients:  eggplant, olive oil, garlic, onions, celery, stewed tomatoes, tomato juice, white wine, oregano, basil, croutons, parm, balsamic vinegar, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. parm cheese, 13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian- Vegan-Specify and I will omit cheese!

Italian Sausage Zucchini Soup…thanks to high quality sweet Italian sausage this broth is exceptionally flavorful!  Ingredients:  olive oil, sweet Italian sausage, onions, garlic, tomatoes, basil, oregano, parsley, zucchini, celery, green pepper, pinch of red chili flakes, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. parm cheese, 13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Sweet Treat: Oreos (home made of course!)

Soups & Sweet Treat 9.17.15

Soup Thursday is back and I am excited!  The heat and humidity this past week scared me out of the kitchen…but nothing can stop me now!

The days are still warm- if you will not be home shortly after I deliver PLEASE leave some form of cold pack for your soup.

If you have room left on your punch card from last year- or you think you do but aren’t sure- let me know, I have a record.

Here are the soups!

Cheddar Corn Chowder w. Bacon & Scallions…made with local corn!  Ingredients:  bacon, onions, celery, garlic, yukon gold OR red potatoes, chicken stock, coriander, corn, cheddar cheese, whole milk, dash of Worcestershire, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. scallions.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Chilled Curried Carrot Soup…This is also good HOT!  Ingredients:  canola oil, carrots, onion, shallots, garlic, ginger, coriander, curry powder, veggie stock, coconut milk, lime juice, cilantro, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. toasted pepitas.  13.per served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Sweet Treat:  Zucchini Sandwich Cookies  2. per cookie
