I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  This Thursday looks to be chilly with MAYBE a bit of snow!  Perfect soup weather.

Thai PICK YOUR PROTEIN (tofu OR chicken) w. Soups & Sweet Treat 11.19.15

Pork & Green Chili Stew … when I graduated college I moved to Orcas Island in Washington State. I worked at a wonderful cafe- where I had my first lesson in soup making. This was one of the best. I finally obtained the blueprint for this stew. Yummy!  Ingredients: pork butt or shoulder (cut into bit size pieces and slow roasted), onions, carrots, garlic, green chiles, red potatoes, zucchini, cilantro, kosher salt and pepper.  Garnished w, sour cream. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-free

Minestrone. Olive oil, onion, carrot, celery, garlic, tomatoes, white beans, kale, rosemary, thyme, small pasta, kosher salt & pepper.  Vegetarian, Vegan, gluten-free (pasta omitted). 13 per quart served w bread. 

Sweet treat: carrot cupcakes. 2 per cupcake.

What a beautiful weekend!  Sunshine in November always feels like a gift!

Coconut Curried Winter Squash Soup…a creamy soup thickened by the squash and coconut milk.  A little bit of curry powder adds wonderful flavor without being to strong.  Ingredients:  butternut squash, olive oil, garlic, jalapeno, ginger, curry powder, coconut milk, lime, kosher salt, pepper, fresh cilantro.  Garnished w. pumpkin seeds and greek yogurt.  13. per quart w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

Greek Orzo, Lemon & Chicken Soup…this is a wonderful soup.  Simple, full of flavor, and a perfect antidote to all of the lingering colds going around!  Ingredients:  chicken stock, orzo, eggs, lemon, chicken, garlic, spinach, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. fresh dill .  13. per quart

Soups & Sweet Treat 11.5.15

The soups for the first week of November are….

Harvest Tortilla Soup…full of veggies, thickened with corn tortillas, and topped with yummy garnishes!  Ingredients: canola oil, onions, garlic, red pepper, jalapeno, corn, zucchini, diced tomatoes, black beans, cumin, chili powder,  corn tortillas, cilantro, lime juice, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. tortilla chips & sour cream.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan (minus sour cream garnish) & Gluten Free

Hamburger Soup…not really hamburger- but a classic beef and barley made with local ground TURKEY instead of beef.  Ingredients:  ground turkey, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, tomatoes, chicken stock, barley, oregano, basil, thyme, bay leaves, ketchup (the secret ingredient), kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. parm cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread
