Lentil Soup w. Sausage & Chard…this broth is amazing!  Filled with tender lentils, local sweet Italian sausage and ribbons of chard.  Ingredients: olive oil, sausage, onions, celery, carrots, garlic, brown lentils, bay leaves, tomatoes, swiss chard, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. parm cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Baked Potato Soup…the name says it all!  This can be vegetarian or not- just specify your garnishes.  Ingredients:  canola oil, carrots, celery, onions, garlic, russet potatoes, while milk, veggie stock, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. Bacon, sour cream, scallions & cheddar cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian (minus bacon), Gluten-Free

Sweet Treat: Keeping it simple after a week of Halloween candy- Classic Chocolate Chip Cookies w. or without pecans.  1. each

Soups & Sweet Treat 10.27.16

The last soup Thursday in October!  Where does the time go?!  Spent a wonderful weekend in NH celebrating my oldest daughters 14th birthday.  On the way home yesterday we drove through snow- not just mountain snow, but snow snow!  Tis the season to start hunkering in…

Greek Orzo, Lemon, and Chicken Soup…this soup will cure all that ails you.  Homemade chicken broth infused with lemon & enhanced with threads of cooked eggs.  Ingredients: homemade chicken stock, orzo, eggs, lemon, chicken, fresh spinach, kosher salt, pepper & dill on the side.  13. per quart served w. bread

Chickpea & Butternut Squash Soup…this may just be my favorite vegetarian soup.  Complex and filling.  Ingredients: olive oil, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, butternut squash, tomatoes, chick peas, tomato juice, soy sauce, lime juice, ground ginger, coriander, brown sugar, coconut milk, fresh cilantro, kosher salt & pepper.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free.  13. per quart served w. bread

Soups & Sweet Treat 10.20.16

After a freakishly warm day tomorrow it looks like temps will become more seasonal.  Thursday- cool & rainy.  Perfect SOUP weather!!!

Beef & Black Bean Chili…this chili has a following!  Meaty, smoky spice due to the chipotle & topped with all kinds of zingy garnishes!  Ingredients:  canola oil, local ground beef, red onions, cumin, chili powder, chipotle, black beans, tomatoes, kosher salt, pepper, lime juice & fresh cilantro.  Garnished w. lime marinated red onions, sour cream & cheddar cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Pasta E Fagioli…classic pasta and bean soup- I puree some of the beans to give it a naturally creamy texture.  Ingredients:  olive oil, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, fennel, crushed tomatoes, cannelloni beans, ditalini pasta, bay leaves, basil, parsley, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. Parmesan cheese.  Vegetarian, Vegan (minus cheese garnish).  13. per quart served w. bread.

Wow!  Fall arrived over the weekend!  Soup weather is finally here!!

Coconut Curried Winter Squash Soup…Yum!!…Ingredients:  butternut squash, canola oil, garlic, jalapeno (just a bit), fresh ginger, curry powder, veggie broth, coconut milk, lime juice, kosher salt, pepper & cilantro.  Garnished w. toasted pumpkin seeds & Greek yogurt.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

“Hamburger” Soup…actually made with local ground turkey- a take on classic beef & barley.  Ingredients:  onions, carrots, celery, garlic, ground turkey, barley, tomatoes, ketchup, oregano, basil, thyme, bay leaf, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. grated parm.  13. per quart served w. bread.

Vegetarian Mulligatawny Soup…one of my most popular vegetarian soups.  Full of all things good for you!  Ingredients:  olive oil, garlic, onions, celery, carrots, lentils, tomatoes, chickpeas, tomato juice, curry powder, cumin, coriander, coconut milk, bit of honey, basmati rice, fresh cilantro, kosher salt & pepper.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan & Gluten-Free

 

Cauliflower-Potato Chowder…I love this soup!  Humble veggies combined to make something decadent!  Note: Consistency of this soup is part creamy and part chunky. Ingredients:  olive oil, leeks, carrots, celery, potatoes, cauliflower, bay leaves, cheddar cheese, light cream, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. bacon & scallions.  Vegetarian (minus bacon) & Gluten-Free.  13. per quart served w. bread.
