Soups & Sweet Treat 11.30.17

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. This weeks soups are lacking in Thanksgiving “flavors” and are comforting, healthful AND delicious!

Sausage, Cabbage, and Root Vegetable Soup…French-style full of things good for you!  Ingredients: olive oil, mild local Italian sausage , onions, garlic, carrots, turnips, celery root, Yukon gold potatoes, green cabbage, chicken broth, tomatoes, fresh rosemary, fresh thyme, kosher salt, and pepper. Garnished w. Parmesan cheese. 13. Per quart served w. Bread

Vegetarian Mulligatawny Soup…one of my more popular vegetarian options and a favorite of lentil lovers!  Ingredients:  canola oil, garlic, onions, celery, carrots, lentils, tomatoes, chickpeas, tomato juice, curry powder, cumin, coriander, coconut milk, basmati rice, fresh cilantro, kosher salt and pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread 

Sweet Treat: Oreos 2. Each

Soups & Sweet Treat 11.16.17

This weeks soups are….

Classic Chicken Noodle…. a classic cure all!  Ingredients: Broth-canola oil, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, parsley stems, peppercorns, bay leaf, whole chickens, water. The Finish: egg noodles, celery, carrots, chicken, kosher salt, pepper and fresh parsley. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. 

Hot-And-Sour Soup…full of flavor and various textures. Ingredients : cloud ear mushrooms, lily buds, veggie stock, firm tofu, shiitake mushrooms, bamboo shoots, ginger, cornstarch, rice vinegar, soy sauce, eggs, scallions, sesame oil, kosher salt and pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Vegetarian, Vegan – if specified. I will leave eggs out. & Gluten-free. 

Chewy Oatmeal Raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies. 1. Each.

Soups & Sweet Treat 11.9.17

We have entered the dark time of year. Time to find light where we can and savor the simple things. I hope my soups help brighten the beige days of November.

Three Bean & Beef Chili…classic Tex-Mex chili loaded with peppers, beef, and beans. Ingredients:  local ground beef, kidney beans, black beans, pinto beans, onions, peppers, garlic, cumin, chili powder, Mexican oregano, diced tomatoes, lime juice, kosher salt, pepper, and cilantro. Garnished w. Tortilla chips & grated cheese. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-Free

Baked Potato Soup…I start to crave Potatoes in the fall. There is something about their earthy taste and creamy texture that I find grounding. My favorite way to eat Potatoes is loaded with all kinds of fixings- this soup is a testament to that. Ingredients: canola oil, garlic, onions, celery, Yukon gold & russet Potatoes, veggie stock, onion powder, garlic powder, sour cream, light cream, kosher salt & pepper. Garnished with: bacon, grated cheese & scallions. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Vegetarian (minus bacon garnish) & Gluten-Free. 

Sweet Treat: Chocolate Cupcakes w. Chocolate Frosting. 2. Each
