Soups & Sweet Treat 3.14.19

It is almost mid March!  That glorious time of year when one day feels like spring – the next winter. It’s a moody month, full of ups and down. Food wise I start to crave lighter, fresher flavors , yet still want something warm and soothing. Soup to the rescue!

Greek Orzo, Lemon & Chicken Soup… full of bright flavors but also creamy (from threads of egg) and comforting. Ingredients: homemade chicken stock, orzo, lemon zest, lemon juice, chicken, spinach, kosher salt, pepper and fresh dill. 13. Per quart served with bread 

Spinach & Zucchini Bisque… this soup is greater then the sum of its parts. Fennel adds a touch of sweetened and Yukon golds a creaminess. Ingredients: butter, garlic, leeks, celery, fennel, zucchini, Yukon golds, nutmeg, spinach, light cream, kosher salt & pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Vegetarian 

Sweet Treat: black bottom cupcakes 2. Each
