It seems that the endless summer of 2017 will be a thing of the past by Thursday. To welcome fall this weeks soups have a decidedly autumn flavor!

Chickpea & Butternut Squah Soup…this is probably my most popular vegetarian soup. Full of sweet butternut squash and creamy chickpeas – it is really the broth that steals the show. Coconut milk, lime juice, tomatoes, and ginger make the taste buds tingle!  Ingredients: olive oil, onions, carrots, celery, garlic, butternut squash , celery, garlic, dived tomatoes, chickpeas, tomato juice, soy sauce, lime juice, ginger, coriander, coconut milk, cilantro, kosher salt & pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread  Vegetarian , Vegan & Gluten Free

Chicken Barley Soup w. Sweet Potatoes & Spiniach…classic chicken & barley soup updated with warm North African spices and baby spinach for freshness. Ingredients: olive oil, onions, paprika, cinnamon, chili powder, coriander, tomato paste, garlic, barley, sweet potatoes, chicken breasts, lemon juice, baby spiniach, kosher salt, and pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread.

Corn Chowder…classic corn chowder flavored with bacon and finished with cheddar. Ingredients: bacon, potatoes, carrots, celery, garlic, coriander, corn, light cream, cheddar cheese, dash of Worcestershire, kosher salt & pepper. Garnished w. Scallions. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-Free

Italin Wedding Soup…yum!  This soup contains some of my favorite things: fresh greens, pasta & little meatballs!  Ingredients:  MEATBALLS: ground beef, ground pork, eggs, Parmesan, bread crumbs, garlic, basil, parsley, kosher salt & pepper. SOUP: olive oil, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, diced tomatoes, chicken stock, baby pasta, fresh greens (chard or escarole), parsley, basil, kosher salt & pepper. Garnished w. Parmesan. 13. Per quart served w. Bread.

Coconut Curried Winter Squash… Creamy thanks to the squash and coconut milk and bright thanks to lime and fresh cilantro. Ingredients: butternut squash, canola oil, garlic, jalapeño, fresh ginger, curry powder, veggie stock, coconut milk, lime juice, kosher salt and pepper. Garnished w. Fresh cilantro. 13. Per quart, vegetarian, vegan & gluten-free

Lentil Soup w. Sausage & Chard…. this soup has an amazingly flavorful broth, creamy lentils, and tender veggies. Ingredients: olive oil, sweet Italian sausage, onions, garlic, carrots, celery, lentils, crushed tomatoes, bay leaves, Swiss chard, kosher salt & pepper. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-free

What a difference a week makes!  Enjoy this delightful fall weather and welcome to October!!!

Beef & Black Bean Chili w. Chipotle…a customer favorite!  Ingredients: Local ground beef, black beans, garlic, red onions, tomatoes, chipotle in adobo, chili powder, cumin, lime juice, kosher salt, pepper, and fresh cilantro.  Garnished w. lime marinated red onions, sour cream & grated cheddar.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Eggplant Parmesan Soup…another customer favorite!  This soup tastes like one of the best tomato soups you have ever had.  Ingredients: eggplant, olive oil, garlic, onions, celery, stewed tomatoes, tomato juice, oregano, basil, croutons, Parmesan cheese, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. Parmesan.  13. per quart served w. bread.

Soups & Sweet Treat 9.28.17

Summer continues into Autumn.  It feels strange to be thinking about soup today- school sports practices are cancelled due to the heat index in the 90s, I spent a good portion of the day yesterday floating around in lake Champlain, and slept with the fan on high.  However, and this makes me happy, the weather is going to shift while we are asleep Wednesday night into the early hours of Thursday morning.  Thursday, soup day, will feel like FALL!!  Highs in 60’s, winds out of the northwest- ahhhh.  I can’t wait.  Celebrate the late arrival of fall with a quart or two of soup!

Minestrone Soup…While minestrone is good anytime of year, I think it tastes best in fall when packed full of late summer local veggies & herbs.  Ingredients: leeks, olive oil, garlic, carrots, parsnips, celery, zucchini, fresh rosemary, fresh parsley, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, white beans, veggies stock, acini di pepe (or other very small pasta), kosher salt, and pepper.  Garnished w. optional Parmesan cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Vegan (minus parm) & Gluten-Free (minus pasta).

“Hamburger” Soup…A riff on the classic beef and barley made with local ground turkey as opposed to beef.  This soup is popular with both kids and adults.  Ingredients: Onions, carrots, celery, garlic, local ground turkey, tomatoes, barley, oregano, thyme, basil, ketchup (sounds strange but it is the secret ingredient), kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. Parmesan cheese.  13. per quart served w. bread.

Soups & Sweet Treat 9.21.17

I feel like I have traveled back in time, to the last week of summer/school vacation.  Temps in the 80s, sunshine, warm lake water, and NO school.  The board and union are meeting today, fingers crossed school will be back in session tomorrow.  If it is not- there will STILL be soup Thursday.

This weeks soups will be what was offered, but canceled, last week.

Thanks for a great first week back!  It was wonderful seeing some of you again and sharing soup with new customers!

Reminder to leave some form of ice in some form of cooler- the days are still warm!

Thai Red Curry-Chicken Noodle Soup…I love this soup.  A little bit of spice mellowed by coconut milk and brightened with lime. Ingredients: canola oil, shallots, garlic, ginger, madras curry powder, turmeric, Thai red curry paste, cilantro, chicken stock, coconut milk, fish sauce, soy sauce, chicken, rice noodles, baby spinach , kosher salt and pepper. Garnished w. Bean sprouts, chopped cilantro and Thai basil & scallions. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-free


Cauliflower & Parsnip “vichyssoise ” w. Gremolata…this soup is wonderful chilled or heated.  Smooth and creamy , the crunch gremolata garnish adds texture. Ingredients: leeks, butter, olive oil, parsnips, cauliflower, fresh thyme, veggie stock, heavy cream, kosher salt and pepper. Garnished w. Gremolata (butter, olive oil, panko, lemon zest, parsley and chives) 13.  Per quart served w. Bread. Vegetarian , gluten-free inus gremolata

Soups & Sweet Treat 9.7.17

Soup is back!


It is still fairly warm out- if you won’t be home please leave some form of ice in a cooler.

Quarts are 13.  You may purchase soup cards and save a bit of money. 5 quarts for 60, 10 for 120.

Orders are due on Wednesday by 9am. I deliver on Thursdays between 3-5. Pick up orders are ready at 2:45

Corn Chowder w. Chili, Lime and Cotija…this is a riff on corn chowder from Smitten Kitchen, one of my favorite food bloggers. It combines corn chowder with Mexican-style corn on the cob. Beans replace potatoes and the result is wonderful.  Ingredients: Fresh corn, olive oil, onions, garlic, jalapeño, chili powder, masa, veggie stock, black beans, whole milk, bit of heavy cream, kosher salt and pepper. Garnished w. Street Corn Dressing (mayo, sour cream, cotija cheese, lime, cilantro and chili powder) and tortilla chips. 13.  Per quart, served w. Bread vegetarian & gluten free. 

Italian Sausage-Zucchini Soup…rich flavored broth thanks to the sausage-and full of late summer zucchini and fresh herbs. Ingredients: olive oil, local Italian sausage, onions, garlic, tomatoes, zucchini, green pepper, celery, chopped basil, oregano, and parsley, kosher salt and pepper. Garnished w. Fresh parm. 13. Per quart served w. Bread. Gluten-free

Bok Choy & Rice Noodle Soup w. Turkey Meatballs…yum!…Ingredients: Meatballs- tofu, water chestnuts, scallions, ginger, cilantro, soy sauce, and local ground turkey. Soup: rice noodles, chicken stock, ginger, scallions, tomato, soy sauce and baby bok choy.  13. per quart served w. bread.  Gluten-Free.

Minestrone w. Orzo…my version of minestrone.  Ingredients: olive oil, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, tomatoes, tomato juice, bay leaves, chickpeas, small white beans, zucchini, summer squash, orzo, fresh basil, fresh parsley, kosher salt and pepper.  13.per quart served w. bread & garnished with parm.  Vegetarain & Vegan (minus garnish)

Potato, Bacon & Chive Soup…kind of like loaded baked potatoes in soup form!  Ingredients: butter, garlic, onions, celery, potatoes, chicken stock, onion powder, garlic powder, sour cream, milk, kosher salt & pepper.  Garnished w. bacon & chives.  13. per quart, served w. bread.  Gluten-Free

Herby Leek and Pea Soup w. Croutons…spring in a bowl!  Ingredients: butter, leeks, veggie broth, peas, fresh tarragon, fresh oregano, fresh parsley, creme fraiche, lemon juice, kosher salt, pepper.  Croutons: olive oil, salt , pepper, and bread.  Garnished w. croutons & herbs.  13. per quart, served w. bread.  Vegetarian, Gluten-Free (minus croutons).
